Black Lives Matter Reading List

In no way, is this list a comprehensive study of all the books about racial inequality, Black history, or books by Black authors, but I wanted to pick a dozen or so novels to at least get me started in the right direction. I’ll also be adding in some of the books I’ve already reviewed that help illustrate some of the issues faced by Black Americans in the past 100 years.

Why am I doing this? Well, I’m White, for one. And that comes with, unfortunately, a lot of misinformation, a lot of bias, and a lot of cultural confusion that just… shouldn’t be there. There’s a lot about history that I don’t know about, I’ll admit that. I liked science and math more than social studies or history when I was in school. And that is something that I know I need to change. Much like the rest of my journey with the Library of 1000 Books, this is about me educating myself, and trying to share what I’ve learned.

So, here is my Black Lives Matter Book List, and please, feel free to drop a suggestion if you have a book or author you feel would be a good addition to this list.
